Polling to the 70 Assembly seats spread over 13 districts of Uttarakhand is taking place on Monday February 14th 2022. This is the fifth Assembly poll being held in the hill state since its creation in 2000.
A public holiday has been declared by the administration for the single-day polling in the state.

A public holiday in Uttarakhand to mourn the passing of Finance Minister Prakash Pant.
Uttarakhand Finance Minister Prakash Pant died on Wednesday June 5th 2019 while undergoing treatment for a lung ailment in the United States. The senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader was a legislator from his hometown Pithoragarh.
Uttarakhand state has announced a three-day state mourning. A one-day public holiday has also been declared for Thursday June 6th 2019.
