When is Robert E. Lee's Birthday?
This state holiday is observed on the third Monday in January.
Mississippi and Alabama are the only two states that celebrate Lee's birthday on the same day as Martin Luther King Day. Arkansas separated the holidays in 2017 and no longer observes this day as a state holiday.
Georgia observed this holiday on the Day after Thanksgiving. Since 2016, it has been named by Georgia as 'State Holiday', removing any reference to Robert E. Lee.
