As mark of respect to the departed soul of Goa Deputy Chief Minister Francis Dsouza, who passed away on Thursday 14 February 2019, the state government declared three day mourning and ordered all state government offices, local or autonomous bodies, public sector undertakings, all educational institutions, including the aided institutions, to remain closed on Friday 15 February 2019.
