The Karnataka government has declared a one day holiday for all schools, colleges, and government offices on the demise of Siddaganga Math seer Sri Shivakumara Swami.
All education institutions including schools and colleges, government offices, banks and insurance companies across the State will not open on Tuesday 22 January 2019.
The holiday has been declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
A three-day State mourning has also been declared, where the national and the State flags will be at half mast.
The 111-year-old seer died on Monday 21 January in Tumakaru.
