Monday July 29th 2019 will be a public holiday in Mauritius to celebrate the country's success in the Indian Ocean Island Games, which were being hosted in Mauritius.
The closing ceremony for the games will take place on Sunday July 28th 2019.
The Mauritian Prime Minister announced the holiday to allow Mauritians to celebrate the victory of their country at the 10th Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG).
The Indian Ocean Island Games is a multi-sport event that takes place every four years for top athletes from seven Indian Ocean island nations - Mauritius, Seychelles, Comoros, Madagascar, Mayotte, the Maldives and Réunion.
