Kedah (also known as Kedah Darul Aman, literally "Kedah, Abode of Peace") is a state in the northern part of the West Coast of Malaysia.
Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah is the 29th Sultan of Kedah. He was proclaimed Sultan on September 11th 2017, upon the death of his elder half brother, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah. Tuanku Sallehuddin was born on April 30th 1942.
The Sultanate of Kedah was the earliest sultanate on the Malay Peninsula and one of the oldest Sultanates in the world, founded in 1136.
