Public Holiday on Dec. 24th 2021
The Chandigrah Union Territoty (UT) administration has declared Friday December 24th 2021 as a public holiday in all government offices, corporations, institutions and industrial establishments under it on account of the municipal corporation elections. The counting of votes will take place on December 27th 2021.
A UT spokesperson said, “This will also be a paid holiday in industrial shops, commercial establishments and for daily wage employees.”
There are about 6,30,311 voters in Chandigarh. This time, the wards have been increased from 26 to 35. The campaigning will end 72 hours before the polling date. This time there will be 694 polling stations.
