- In addition to the above public holidays (11 regional/national plus island day), each municipality has its own two days, chosen locally and then announced by the Government, bringing the total number of holidays in any given area to 14.
- The municipal days are February 3rd, the feast of the Virgin of Candelaria; in Tenerife, on July 5th, the feast of the Bajada de la Virgen de los Reyes, in El Hierro; on August 5th, the feast of Nuestra Señora de Las Nieves, in La Palma; on September 19th, the feast of Nuestra Señora de la Peña, in Fuerteventura; on September 8th, the feast of Our Lady of the Pine in Gran Canaria; on September 15th, the feast of Our Lady of the Volcanoes, in Lanzarote and La Graciosa; and on October 6th, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in La Gomera.
