When is Idaho Day?

Idaho Day is always celebrated on 4th March. It is not a public holiday.

Background to Idaho Day

Idaho Day was created by the 2014 Idaho Legislature with the purpose of encouraging the people of Idahoans to "celebrate the rich history, cultural diversity, unique beauty, and boundless resources of the State of Idaho, and thereby gain a renewed sense of courage and confidence for the future."

4th March was chosen as Idaho Day to commemorate the creation of Idaho by President Abraham Lincoln on that day in 1863. Idaho gained its statehood on 3 July 1890, becoming the 43rd state.
