About Sulu Foundation Day
The Office of the Governor of Sulu has declared Friday, September 18th 2020 as a public holiday in the entire province.
Officer-in-charge Governor Abdusakur A. Tan II issued a memorandum to all government and private institutions, schools, agencies and offices regarding the observance of the public holiday.
He said this is pursuant to Provincial Ordinance No. 01, Series of 1993 dated August 9th 1993 in celebration of the 630th Founding Anniversary of Local Governance and Public Administration in Sulu.
Sulu is a province of the Philippines in the Sulu Archipelago and part of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Its capital is Jolo with Maimbung as the royal capital of the Sultanate of Sulu Sulu is along the southern border of the Sulu Sea and the northern boundary of the Celebes Sea.
