Public Holiday in 2024

When is Public Holiday?

YearDates
2024

Supreme Decree No. 110-2024-PCM has declared Thursday, November 14th, Friday, November 15th, and Saturday, November 16th, 2024, as compensable non-working days in the city of Lima for the public and private sectors, in order to facilitate the meetings of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

Here are the most important things to consider:

  • Non-working days will be applied in Metropolitan Lima and in the Constitutional Province of Callao for workers in the public and private sectors.
  • In the private sector, compensation for days missed from work will be made by agreement between the employer and worker. In the absence of an agreement, the employer decides.
  • As they are non-working days subject to subsequent compensation, we consider that employers can arrange for compensation to be made on the same day, performing telework. This would only be applicable to jobs that are compatible with teleworking.
  • Companies that carry out economic activities of special relevance to the community (sanitary services, sanitation, cleaning, electricity, water and sewage, fuel, burial, communications, transportation, ports, airports, security, custody, surveillance and transfer of valuables and sale of food and groceries) are authorized to determine the jobs that will work during these days in person.
