15 February 2019 Holidays
The proposed elections for Saturday 16 February 2019 were postponed at the last minute. This was after several states had declared the Friday before a public holiday.
Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi declared Friday 15th February 2019 as a public holiday to enable the people to travel to places where they registered for the elections and vote.
He said that the decision was to prevent such citizens from traveling on Saturday because of transportation challenges that might be experienced on the election’s day.
