The Public is hereby informed that, following the decision taken on Sunday 21 April 2024 by the National Crisis Committee pertaining to torrential rainfall, the Bank of Mauritius has declared Monday 22 April 2024 a bank holiday by virtue of Section 63 of the Banking Act.
However, in specific cases where urgent transactions must be processed, entities regulated by the Bank of Mauritius should ensure that these tasks are handled remotely by their staff from home.

The Public is hereby informed that further to the decision taken by Government regarding public sector employees, and in light of prevailing weather conditions, the Bank has, by virtue of Section 63 of the Banking Act, declared Tuesday January 23rd 2024 a bank holiday.

The Public is hereby informed that further to the Order made by the National Crisis Committee, as published in today’s Government Gazette, the Bank has, by virtue of Section 63 of the Banking Act, declared Tuesday January 16th 2024 a bank holiday.

The Public is hereby informed that in light of the last cyclone bulletin issued by the Mauritius Meteorological Services and the deteriorating weather conditions, the Bank of Mauritius has, by virtue of Section 63 of the Banking Act, declared a Bank Holiday as from 12hrs30 today, this Monday January 15th 2024.

The Public is hereby informed that, following the decision taken today by the National Crisis Committee pertaining to torrential rainfall, the Bank of Mauritius has, with the approval of the Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, declared Friday January 27th 2023 a bank holiday by virtue of Section 63 of the Banking Act.
