Senior politician and former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna passed away on December 10th. In light of his demise, the Karnataka government has declared a three-day state mourning as a mark of respect for the veteran leader.
Additionally, Wednesday December 11th 2024, has been declared a public holiday in the state. Government offices, schools, and public institutions will remain closed on this day.
The state government has announced that S.M. Krishna’s funeral will be conducted with full state honours in his hometown, Maddur’s Somnahalli, Mandya district.
The mortal remains of the late leader will be kept at his residence in Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru, throughout Tuesday for public viewing. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar confirmed that the final rites would take place in Mandya on Wednesday.
S.M. Krishna was known for his statesmanship and long-standing contributions to Karnataka’s political landscape.
